Welcome to the Solano Tax Watchers!!!

We meet at 12:00pm every month on the second Friday at Denny’s, 304 Pittman Rd, Cordelia, CA 94585

“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you!”
— Pericles

“if a nation expects to be ignorant and free…it expects what never was and never will be.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“I never worry about action…but on inaction” — Winston Churchill

What we do:

(1) Reduce the burden of taxes by persuading governments to live within their revenues.

(2) Advocate open and efficient government by watching their actions and recommending ways to improve.  How do we get involve:

  • Track local tax measures, bonds, and assessments
  • Review public budgets, contracts, and expenditures
  • Educate residents on how tax dollars are allocated
  • Advocate for transparency and accountability
  • Provide public commentary and reports
  • Empower citizens to engage in civic oversight

How we do it:

* Attend city council and Solano County Board of Supervisors meetings.

* Serve on the school bond Citizens Oversight Committees for Fairfield-Suisun, Vacaville, and Solano Community College districts.

* Produced programs for local public access television on taxes and legislation.

* Write a monthly column in Fairfield’s Daily Republic newspaper, where we examine issues that impact the community.

Why It Matters

When citizens aren’t watching, waste grows. When no one asks questions, accountability fades. When systems go unchecked, communities pay the price.

Solano Tax Watchers is the watchdog.
